Frequently asked questions
Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other.
We will talk about what’s brought you to therapy, what you’re hoping for, and what feels most important right now. You are welcome to ask questions too. There is no pressure to share anything you’re not ready to.
Sessions are 50 minutes long and usually take place weekly at a regular time that suits you.
I understand that everyone’s needs are different, so I also offer longer or shorter sessions where appropriate. If you’re unsure what might work best, feel free to get in touch — I’m happy to talk through the options with you.
This varies depending on your needs and goals. Some people come for a short period to focus on something specific, while others prefer open-ended support. We’ll review this together as we go along.
In-person sessions take place in a private, peaceful room in Croxley Green, near Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire. My location is easily accessible from Watford, Chorleywood, and surrounding areas

Yes. Everything you share in our sessions is treated with care and confidentiality.
There are some rare exceptions where I may need to break confidentiality. This includes situations where there is a serious risk of harm to you or someone else, or where I am legally required to share information (for example, in cases involving certain safeguarding concerns or criminal activity). Wherever possible, I would aim to talk this through with you first.

I offer a small number of reduced-cost weekly sessions for student counsellors and people facing financial hardship. Please feel free to get in touch to check availability.
I support adults with a wide range of concerns, including:
Anxiety and panic
Low self-esteem and self-worth
Relationship difficulties
Trauma, including childhood and sexual trauma
Stress, overwhelm, and life transitions
If you're not sure whether I can help with something specific, you're welcome to ask.
Yes. You are free to end counselling whenever you choose. I usually recommend we plan a final session so you have space to reflect and close the process gently.
You’re welcome to get in touch by email between sessions for practical things, like scheduling or questions. I don’t offer therapeutic support between sessions by email or phone, but we can always talk about anything that’s come up when we meet.
